Towards the end of the book, he is told his best friend was literally torn limb from limb by a dark one and this was happening quite a bit. The dark ones were stated to be hideously strong. Think about it from the books point and even hinted at with the game. That final gig looked more like another one of those than a true revelation. He'd had several psychic attacks as he'd gone through the metro and survived them. Game was? It was pretty far off the mark from his accomplishments. Book wise - "Rabbit" made sense at the start. Quite different and Last Light was more a sequel to the book than to the game (especially with it coming from "the bad ending"). The games didn't leave questions but made it so the dark ones were "good". I liked the books ending morre than the 2 "good/bad" game endings. I hope so but I'd read the author of the book was going to extend Artyom's story more with a new sequel. Which may suggest the Redemption ending is canon (D6 still exists).Originally posted by «(MooP)»™:They might use another character as the new DLC's are gonna do that, but if they do go off the book for the next game artyom should be back. They surely could not be rebuilding at 2030, since in both Metro 2033 and Last Light (2034) the idea of rebuilding on the surface is unheard of and mostly impossible, so i'm lead to believe that they are referring to the war in Metro Last Light. Seven years after the war of 2013 turns us up to 2030. "It's been seven years since the war ended, and we've been doing what exactly? Sitting in our asses in this D6" One may assume this meant the original War, but when you exit, another ranger says this to you: And now, when everything is ready, I have to sit it out (due to injury). In the loading screen, the character mentions how "We've been getting ready to rebuild after the war. In it, you play as a Spartan whom was wounded, and so you help scientists by testing out a virtual reality system. One specifically caught my attention Tower Pack. I didn't see a DLC around for LL, must've missed that.I bought LL from a third party site through steam and they didnt show a DLC, interesting. I am in between good and bad as well, however I do think I prefer good just a little bit more as seeing Atyom with his lil' son makes a smile appear on my face. D6 remains and the people who fought along are spared. Originally posted by |Spyx|:The bad ending gives a very nice and emotional final, but the good ending gives new light for a new game. Seeing as in the books he kinda just falls over and is presumed dead. Actually, this seems moreso a reference towards Bourban living in the books. If you listen to the rumors and stories throughout the games you'll find there is plenty of meat for new games. We saw Bourbon die in 2033, yet in LL we hear a rumor about that station and they say Bourbon lived. His journey after losing his station, how he became a kind of prophet, and what happened to him after D6. There could be a whole series of games based around him. Uhlman did a lot before he died, there could be many games where you play as him. But I do strongly feel that all of the characters have atleast one more game in them (Save for Uhlman, whom dies in either ending). Bad ending gives us more closure (surprisingly), since we can end the story for all the main characters and move on. Originally posted by Rexcopter:I'm kinda torn inbetween. I suppose that menu represents Redeption being the canon I suppose? Since the games are actually journals. Old Artyom is sitting on the desk because he is narrating the events of both games (Loading screens).Īhh I see, so the loading screen itself is the present, and both games are re-living the journals. Unless, again, 2033 is nothing more than a journal AFTER LL, and LL is what actually happened in the present. i know it's redux, so they could've just put it there as an easter egg.īut maybe I've missed out important story details and 2033 comes after LL in chronological order story-wise? Which is why I am kind of confused why they show older Artyom sitting at his desk.IN 2033. the dark ones had survived, and helped artyom out if you got Redemption ending.
